The lifestyle on the island is fairly slow-paced, and as the Sri Lankans don’t have a strong tradition for going out to eat, most of your meals will be taken in your hotel, where you might like to sample some of the local specialities, including a selection of curries, tropical fruit and a strong drink called Arrack. Sri Lanka is an animal-loving nation and Kosgoda is famous for its turtle hatchery, operated by the Wild Life Protection Society. Also, just a short distance from Kegalle, lies a government-supported elephant orphanage, where baby elephants, many less than a year old, are raised to maturity after being injured or abandoned in the country's jungles.

Arugam Bay, is located on the east coast approximately 7 hour from the capital Colombo. This is the main surf spot along the east coast and offers long, excellent right hand point breaks. the surf height varies between 2 to 8 ft with some rides taking you over 700 metres in one go! Arugam Bay a small fishers' village, is one of the world's top ten surf locations, known for its fantastic waves, which attract surfers from overseas. Come and discover the beauty and charm of this sandy paradise.
Peanut Farm, just 20 minutes south of Arugambay offers a glorious sandy bottom and another perfect right hand point break with the occasional barrel. Surf height never exceeds 6ft at this spot and is most commonly 2 to 4ft making it a perfect surf destination for those intermediate surfers looking for a fun point break!
Potuvill Point, located 15 minutes north of Arguambay is the second best point break in the Indian Ocean, it has a sandy bottom and a beautiful peeling waves with an average surf height of 2 to 6ft with some swell exceeding 8ft at times.
Crocodile Rock, 15 minutes south of Arugam Bay offers a right hand sandy point break located in the river mouth with an average swell height not exceeding 4ft.
Okanda Point, Right sandy point break about 18 KM from Arugam Bay and this is another good spot with long rides in the region of 500 metres!
As you journey to the east coast we will have to break the journey half way through depending on the flights of your arrival at Belihuloya where we own a small quaint traditional hotel. This is in the natural reserve where you will find elephants roaming free outside.
Accommodation in Aragam Bay is at the Tri Star Hotel and is a new building which has around 20 air con rooms. There is a good satellite TV system, a large flat roof top and a very small front, ocean facing garden.
