Santa Teresa is a Robinson Crusoe's dream tucked away on the edge of the rainforest in the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula on the west coast of Costa Rica. Mal Pais is situated on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica on the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula.

This magical province extends for approximately 6 km. Not too long ago, Santa Teresa was a small fishing village but has seen quite a bit of growth in the last few years and is quickly becoming the new trendy hot spot with the occasional celebrity, rock star or super model being spotted chillin' like everyone else. Santa Teresa has an international "flavor". Surfers and non-surfers venturing to this area who were just passing through, have fallen in love with Santa Teresa and never left. Of course the waves and gorgeous beaches are a huge attraction here, but the area also offers so much more. From renting quads and exploring the jungle, fishing, hiking, snorkeling, zip line canopy tours, amazing waterfalls, yoga, massage, or visiting the beautiful reserve, Cabo Blanco. The cool bars and variety of delicious cuisine augment an already truly special destination.

We offer packages for all levels..both the experienced or intermediate surfer who wants to stay in rad accommodations and be at the best break in the area. Our packages can be customized to suit your needs, desires and level, but most include two surf lessons daily with experienced and CPR certified instructors. When we have guests that are advanced, we arrange your transportation to secret spots!

Our student ratio is never more than 3 to 1, and often times less as your skills progress during the week, you may be instructed privately as we base your program solely on your individual needs. With several gorgeous beaches in the area each offering different breaks, we always have suitable fun waves and safe place to teach you.

All of your equipment will be supplied unless you prefer to bring your own.And because we have a nice quiver of boards for you to use, the equipment will be changed, as your skill levels grow.. There are two sessions each day, one at approximately 7:30 -8:00 am and the afternoon lesson will be at approximately 3:30 - 4:00 pm. Please note that lesson times may vary depending on wind and tide conditions.

Our gorgeous bungalows are only 150 yards from the sand and world famous surf break. A private oasis awaits you.We offer four luxurious bungalows that uniquely appeal to all of your senses. Each distinctively decorated bungalow boasts exotic, hand carved woods, elegant textures, aromatherapy candles, pillow top mattress' & natural, comfortable bedding. These individually designed interiors become intimate, private retreats, so as to enhance your comfort while enjoying your time with us.

Individual bungalows all have A/C, ceiling fan, hot water, gorgeous, breezy verandas and pillow top mattress'. In each room,we also provide, a digital lap top size room safe, rain can shower heads , beautiful furnishings, organic soap and aromatherapy candles.

Other Amenities include our rich Costa Rican coffee service, , daily house keeping, cool sparkling pool, security guard, open air rancho kitchen, internet access, communal direct TV and access to phone. Our manager & partner in the surf school, Pia,has years of experience in hotel management and has dedicated herself to make sure all of your needs are met. A local, originally from Argentina, she speaks perfect English and Spanish and emits the most beautiful energy and Pura Vida vibe. Pia and her staff are more than happy to help accommodate arranging all your holiday wishes while you are our guests.

We offer private or group surf lessons, private yoga, massages, spa services, quad and bike rental, zip line canopy tours, horseback riding, sport fishing, a trip to Cabo Blanco Nature reserve or the Montezuma waterfalls, restaurant recommendations and reservations, booking tours, taxis, and more....We work together to ensure your vacation is effortless and all about you, your comfort and enjoyment!Her lovelystaff ensures the same!

In our inviting, cozy outdoor rancho kitchen and communal area ,infamous delicious coffee is always brewing and you are welcome to utilize our fully equipped kitchen...or one can watch direct TV, DVDS or even better.... videos of yourself catching the waves of the day!

Perhaps you will choose a book from our book exchange library or enjoy the company of an eclectic mix of interesting souls...our other guests. You might find yourself playing backgammon, cards or a relaxing game of chess. Bring your laptop if you would like to keep in touch with family and friends using our free dial up internet.
