Your location in Weligama is at the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka, and the term Weligama literally means "sandy village" which refers to the area's sandy sweep surfing bay that makes it just ideal for surfing and enjoy the swells of the Indian Ocean. One of the things that will immediately intrigue you about your surf trip to Weligama is what it is known for, that being distinct stilt fishermen that sit fishing for hours on just a piece of wood out in the Ocean.

It's not just surfing here, although we have the knowledge to make your surf trip one in a million. We have a variety of boats to take you on an amazing trip: fishing, whale and dolphin watching, wakeboarding and snorkelling or sunset trips around the bay. Catch some fish and BBQ on an open fire as the sun sets. PADI scuba diving is located at the other end of the bay too if you want a try at this. Out of the bay there are countless beautiful places to visit from breath-taking beaches, ancient fort towns, temples, coconut groves, and snake farms, paddy lands to bustling towns, traditional markets, yoga retreats and spas. Whatever you want to do, we can help you do as much, or as little as you like.

Eco Friendly Accommodation:

The beautiful cabanas are handcrafted by local carpenters and made from sustainable mango wood and each has something special about it. Sympathetically designed to make the most of sea breezes, all have traditional carvings and huge shuttered front walls to allow constant air flow. Rooms are en-suite and 3 of the 4 have open air bathrooms for showers under the stars. All have a private balcony or seating area and one has its own separate living area. Surf is located directly in front of this accommodation.

It is our belief that we need to look after our planet with this in mind the accommodation owners have taken such steps such as all the electricity comes from a renewable hydro-electric source, they recycle toilet waste and this is filtered and feeds the garden and they use only homemade natural cleaning products. The accommodation encourages a low impact lifestyle in both visiting surfers and the wider community. They invest in the future by encouraging self-sufficiency and empower local people. Getting nearly everything made locally, from the beds to the mosquito nets means many local businesses and families can benefit right now from you booking this wonderful surfing vacations to Sri Lanka – This is a very special experience.
