Xoxxi is offering an exclusive surfing resort on a large unexplored island in Northern Sumatra. No crowds and ease of access make this one of the most attractive surf destinations in the world. With over 10 secret spots catering for surfers of intermediate and above calibres, hundreds of untouched beaches, and stunning remote outer islands, this pristine location offers interest to every tropical surfer.

The island is located off Northern Sumatra approx. 80miles off the coast. Our surf resort is less than 15 minutes’ drive to the landing strip where you will find 2 planes per day arriving. Just approximately 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur via Medan. Our surf resort is situated on the beach close to a very quiet and tiny village and the area offers amazing mountains, with water falls, rain-forest, rivers, abundant wildlife, beaches, islands, fishing, and snorkelling.

Surfing:

The region has the longest fetch out of any Indonesian Island. It can utilize swells from the North such as around India and the Maldives and does not just have to rely on southern swells like most other Indo spots. It also picks up the full brunt of south swells as it sticks out at more of an angle than the other islands and is at the top of a 6km deep x 800mile + trench. Swells received here have a longer period, longer lines and barrels.

Accommodation:

The resort can take a maximum of 14 people at any one time and all beds have mosquito nets with the main building having a fully equipped kitchen, TV, DVD, there is surf hit chill area right in front of the peak. All bungalows have own western style toilet separate shower, internal cupboards, sink, and water container, and each has a balcony with outdoor furniture.
