The Big Session came true after a waiting period of almost one year. Even though since the beginning the charts predicted huge waves for the weekend, still the wind direction was not 100% good for the wave of El Bravo.
Finally the wind component changed enough to give green light to the event. All international riders were called, althought only two of them were able to assist; Paul O'Keane from Ireland and Duncan Scott from UK were the lucky riders who could enjoy the wave of El Bravo, in Tenerife, along with the local riders Alex, Zeben, Fernando and Vilayta.
The waves were huge on Monday, and besides the wave of El Bravo, there were a couple else of breaks going off that day in the city of El Puerto de la Cruz. Surprisingly, the spanish goverment established red alert all along the north coast of the Canaries, so these professional riders were not allowed to use any port in the north to get to the breaks.
Once on Tuesday, even though the waves were half as big as on Monday, we could enjoy a great session of tow-in surfing.
The organization of La SantaTow-inBigSession wants to thank all the audience who spent both days there, paying attention to what was going on and giving support to the riders.
We'd like to thank the local council of El Puerto de La Cruz for their support and trust on this event, for their effort on this new kind of 'not easy to understand' format of event, to Sol Hotels, for their warm welcoming and collaboration, to the restaurant Costa Norte for the closing dinner, to Paul and Duncan, and above all, the local surfers for being there at 100% fulltime making this possible.
THANKS A LOT TO EVERYBODY...
