This is a great place to learn to surf in Portugal offering year round sunshine, great waves that matches that of anywhere in the world and with a wonderful culture to match.

Portugal has a very mild Mediterranean climate which is heavily moderated by the Atlantic ocean. Droughts are common and the Air Temperature in Portugal ranges from 60F in the winter months to the high 90F in the summer.

Located on the heart of west coast in Portugal, our surf camp situated in one of the most beautiful and consistent surf spots in Europe. Situated in Lourinha, Praia da Areia Branca just 5 minutes from Peniche and 25 minutes from Ericeira! Lourinha is a small beach village that still holds its natural beauty and has not changed much in 200 years. One of the best things is the location right in the middle of a selection of the best waves in Europe including Supertubos, Lagido, Baleal and Coxos! This coast is certainly one of the most consistent in Europe. Due to its geographical position, every day you can find surf with offshore wind.

Surfing:

Solid surf is often found with offshore morning breezes extremely common, making it a popular surfing destination for surfers from inside and outside Europe.  Portugal has a huge variety of waves and swell size and as a result makes an ideal surfing location for surfers of every ability and offers sandy beach breaks, point breaks and the odd rock reef too.

Situated west of Spain, Portugal picks up north, west and southerly swells, making surf conditions very consistent. During winter the swell size is around the 6ft to 10ft mark, making it a spot for those looking for challenging surf. In the summer months you can expect waves of 3-6ft in wonderful hot conditions. This destination has been an extremely popular choice with our surf customers as it is very similar to surfing found in southern California and delivers a decent sized surf peak with water temperatures from 60F to low 70F.

Accommodation:

You will be staying in a large traditional surf camp house with other surfers and a direct view of the ocean just 50m from the beach, where restaurants, bars and cafes are the hive of entertainment. The house has all the comforts that you will need a living-room (TV, DVD, surf movies, music) and a nice kitchen. Outside you can enjoy a barbecue and a chill out area here you can view the ocean to relax.
