South Africa boasts some of the best waves and surfing beaches anywhere in the world and with this guided surfing vacation you not only get to experience the waves of the Indian ocean at their beat but also get to see the natural wonder of wild animals like elephants and giraffes etc…
Our main focus is on surfing during this vacation but we throw in a couple of other adventures to keep you frothing! You will be based in the small coastal town of Scottburgh; here the bays in the surrounding area are perfect for surfers to enjoy incredible wave quality.
Surfing vacations to South Africa is what we regard as probably one of the most ultimate surfing destinations with it possible to enjoy a tube ride in the morning and by the afternoon experience the wildlife and encounter a lion and then finish the day with a surf next to a dolphin in the lineup! South Africa does not disappoint as it delivers far more than your expectations of surf.
Day 1
We will pick you up from the airport and transport you down the south coast to your accommodation in Scottburgh. Check in and relax while you soak up the atmosphere, the beach is a mere 100 yards away or just chill out in the gardens. A welcome dinner will be served in the bar and entertainment area with a accommodation fire and braai (barbeque) on the go!
Day 2
Because it’s your first day we will let you have a little sleep in, but soon the smell of your breakfast being prepared will become irresistible and you’ll be tempted from your bed. Once breakfast is done and dusted, we travel the couple of minutes’ drive to the bays of Scottburgh. Here you will be introduced to your surfing guides for the week. We’ll spend the entire day on the beach surfing so that you can enjoy the perfect waves as much as you want. There will be refreshments, lunch and shade provided on the grass area over-looking the ocean so that you can recharge between surfs. Evening meal will be quick and easy tonight as you should be quite exhausted after your long day.
Day 3
Today will start the same as the first, except an earlier rise as you will have some serious surf spots to visit. Once again there will be a beach accommodation set up for you to chill and recharge between surf sessions. Return to accommodation to shower and freshen up. Then it’s a night out in the little town, dinner at a local restaurant and drinks with the locals (own account).
Day 4
Wake up early and make your way to the surfing beach, continue your quest to master your new surfing spots. Return to accommodation for a hearty breakfast and then leave for a tour to Oribi Gorge. Here you will take a drive through the gorge and see the beautiful scenery, but once at the top of the gorge things change. Here you have the chance to brave the highest bridge swing in the world or abseil down the side of a waterfall (optional). Then settle down to lunch at the Leopard Rock coffee shop and enjoy the spectacular views from their balcony. Dinner back at the accommodation will be a delicious fish Braai (barbeque) at the bar and entertainment area, with the accommodation fire to sit around and come down after your adrenalin boost!
Day 5
Have a surf in the morning. In the afternoon go to Gateway Shopping Centre to ride the D-Rex or flow rider. The only free-standing wave in the world that breaks both left and right. Also have a chance to do some shopping and experience some of Durban’s exciting night life.
Day 6
