Justin Sanders, your guide will take you to several surf breaks and secret beaches along the Wild Coast making sure you get waves everyday! No one knows the Transkei like Justin Sanders. The surf breaks around the Transkei vary in size and power, point breaks and beach breaks. Justin will assess your level of surfing and then decide which breaks are best for you. There is a wave for everyone, from beginners to professionals!
Other activities when not surfing include the well known Hole in the Wall, local craft markets, secret beaches, fishing, tanning and get a taste of some traditional dance and drumming. So yes, those who don’t surf will still have plenty to do!
When travelling this part of the world, the community is really what makes your experience unforgettable. The Wild Coast is a Xhosa community made up of many tribes. You will experience the way the Xhosa people live and you will learn all about their culture and beliefs. Justin Sanders is a very well known South African Professional surfer. Justin has been visiting the Transkei with his father since he was just a small boy and has loved everything about it from the first day! In fact, it is due to his dedication to the area and his love for the community that he was offered his very own land!
He has surfed every break as well as knows of spots unnamed. He has vast knowledge of the area, surf breaks and weather patterns. You really won’t find a better tour guide than Justin!

For those days when the surf doesn’t co-operate we’ll always have a list of activities or attractions on the agenda to ensure that your trip to our stunning land is a memorable one.

Surfing Equipment

3 Nights - Wild Coast/ Transkei
2 Nights - East London
East London’s a well-known surf spot with awesome breaks like Nahoon Reef and Queensbury Bay which are Right Hander Point Breaks for the more advanced surfer. Those surfers not wanting to risk these point breaks, will go with Justin to surf at beach breaks such as Eastern beach.
You will stay at Sugar Shack which is spectacularly situated on a sand dune literally within spitting distance of Eastern Beach, yet only a few minutes’ walk from restaurants, pubs, clubs and supermarkets.
East London’s a well-known surf spot – Sugar Shack’s an integral part of the local surfing culture where surfers often meet. Learn to surf with lessons from qualified instructors, as well as other fun, inexpensive activities.
5 Nights - J Bay
J Bay surf speaks for itself! This world famous surf location has some of the best waves you will ever surf.
Justin your guide lived in J Bay for many years in the height of his surfing career so he is well-known and knows exactly where the surf will be cooking! There are loads of breaks to choose from like Super Tubes, Tubes, Point and Boneyards to name a few.
When in J Bay you will get waves no matter what, but, if we can drag you away from the beaches at least one time during this trip, these are some of the adventures you will get to do:
Visit the Seaview Lion Park, here you can handle Lion cubs and view other game such as Giraffe, Zebra, Jackals, Crocodile and African Wildcat.
